Epoxy Colori paint is an industrial paint line with many useful features. To use this paint line well, it is necessary to apply a standard colori epoxy paint application process.

Points to Note When Applying Epoxy Colori Paint

To best complete an Epoxy paint film, the correct Epoxy paint application process must be applied. During the process of applying Colori epoxy paint, you need to pay attention to a number of issues such as:

• First of all, it is necessary to prepare the surface to be painted well, clean it and treat it flat.
• Humidity is a factor that greatly affects the paint film, so it can only be applied when the humidity is below 85%.
• The temperature of the floor must be at least 3°C greater than the dew point.
• Only apply paint when the ambient temperature is higher than 7°C. If epoxy paint is applied at too low a temperature (< 7°C), the drying time of the paint layers and the transfer time between paint layers will be prolonged. May affect the quality of the paint layer.
• During construction, ensure airy space. If applied in an unventilated space, the paint surface will appear shiny and dull white. Do not perform construction near fire and do not smoke near the construction site.

Tools and Machinery Needed to Apply Colori Epoxy Paint

During the epoxy painting process, the support of a number of tools and machinery is needed to increase construction productivity and, moreover, to have a quality epoxy paint film to protect the floor well.

Some tools and equipment such as:

• Brush, roller or airless paint spray gun. Vacuum spray gun has parameters (nozzle size: 0.021 ~ 0.023", spray pressure: 100 ~ 150 kg/cm^2).
• Concrete floor grinder and grinding discs with many numbers: #30, #50, #100,... depending on the surface to be treated.
• Vacuum cleaner: usually has large capacity to increase efficiency and shorten construction time.
• Paint peeler: is a device used to remove old paint layers, limiting dust when cleaning the surface.
• Nail shoes: are a specialized tool for floor painting construction, helping workers walk on painted surfaces without leaving air bubbles.
• Paint scraper: can be made of plastic or metal, usually used to spread paint on the surface.

Most of the first steps in the construction process of Epoxy Colori paint lines are to treat the surface to be painted.

• The floor surface needs to be sanded and foreign objects stuck to the surface removed to increase adhesion between the floor surface and the paint layers.
• Next is to clean the dirt, remove all moss, mold and impurities from the surface.
• It is necessary to ensure that all defects and cracks are completely treated

Prepare Floor Surface Before Painting

In the next steps, depending on the Epoxy Colori paint line chosen, we have quite different construction methods.

1. Apply self-leveling Epoxy Colori paint

*Apply two-component Epoxy Colori primer

• Apply 1 to 2 layers of Epoxy primer to the surface using a roller or paint sprayer.
• The paint layer helps increase the hardness of the surface as well as create a good bond for the self-leveling Epoxy Colori coating and the floor surface.

* Apply 1 coat of Epoxy coating mixed with aggregate

• Use Colori Epoxy paint line in similar colors to the finished self-leveling paint layer to apply, mix the paint with fine quartz sand powder or specialized Epoxy powder and proceed to cover the entire floor surface.
• The overflow layer has the effect of overcoming the convexity of the surface, creating a flat surface before applying the self-leveling Epoxy paint layer.

*Apply a 2-3 mm finishing layer of Colori Self-Leveling Epoxy paint to the surface

• After 12 hours the putty layer has dried, re-treat the surface and clean it.
• Then spread the self-leveling Epoxy paint on the floor, use a table to scrape and roll the paint evenly onto the floor according to the correct quantity according to standards.
• Use a roller to handle air bubbles in the paint layer.

2. Apply water-based Colori Self-Leveling Epoxy paint

*Paint 1 layer of high-quality water-based Epoxy Colori primer for concrete floors

This is a paint layer that increases the bond between the floor and the coating layer. This paint layer is opaque white.

Applying Colori Primer

* Apply 1 layer of water-based Epoxy Colori paint mixed with aggregate (thickness 0.5 - 0.8 mm)

Covers small defects, creates a relatively flat surface, and increases the thickness and hardness of the paint when finished.

*Fix and locally treat defects with self-leveling water-based Epoxy Colori paint (thickness 0.3 - 0.5 mm)

Ensures complete treatment of floor defects, creating a smooth surface, minimizing air bubbles and other risks when applying the finishing paint layer.                                                                                  

*Apply 1 layer of water-based self-leveling paint (thickness 1.5 - 2 mm)

Spread the final layer of color coating, using a scraper to spread the self-leveling colori epoxy paint evenly. The paint layer has colors according to the investor's requirements.

3. Apply water-based Epoxy paint

*Apply 1 layer of water-based Epoxy Colori primer to the floor surface

• Use a roller to apply a coat of primer across the floor surface.
• This layer of paint is very important, it penetrates deeply into the floor, covering up tiny defects.
• Increases the bond between the floor and other paint layers.

*Apply 2 - 3 coats of water-based Epoxy Colori paint to finish

• After the primer layer dries, we proceed to spread the epoxy coating layer. Each coat of paint is spaced 6 to 8 hours apart.
• The paint will dry on the surface after 12 hours, normal work on the paint may take 5 to 7 days.

4. Apply Epoxy paint to metal

*Surface preparation

• We will treat metal surfaces differently than concrete surfaces.
• Metal surfaces that need to be coated with epoxy paint must be cleaned of rust and dust on the surface.
• The old paint layer must be removed if it has been previously painted.

*Spray a layer of Epoxy primer for metal, just one layer is enough

• This paint layer has anti-rust function and is the bonding layer between the metal surface and the Epoxy coating for metal.
• Can use roller or paint sprayer to apply.

*Final step, apply 2 coats of Epoxy color coating to metal

After the primer layer dries for about 4 hours, we proceed to apply Epoxy paint to the metal. Each class is 4-6 hours apart.
